Goliath Roller Coaster is a must-ride attraction for thrill-seekers visiting Great America theme park in Gurnee, IL. As a hybrid roller coaster, it promises an intense yet super-smooth ride, featuring sideways curves, corkscrews, and a loop that feels like a stall while upside down. Although riders may feel intimidated by the drop, it's described as more fun than scary. The absence of handles may add to the mental scare, making it a max thrill experience and earning a spot in the top 5 favorite coasters at the park. Some guests opt to use Fast Passes or VIP Memberships to cut the wait time. Goliath is the second ground-up coaster from RMC, and despite its relatively short ride length, it delivers a punch with a perfectly coordinated combination of elements. With its fun and memorable Zero G inverter, Goliath is an exciting adventure that riders are sure to treasure.

Amazing ride! The drop is so intense and being a hybrid makes it a super smooth ride. Sideways curves, corkscrews, loop that feels like a stall while upside down. Only thing that I wish I would have been prepared for, there is NOTHING to hang onto. Lol my husband didn't want to ride front row, so I couldn't see how much more track we had to climb and that was a mental scare when I KNEW what the drop looked like, the anticipation with no handles made it extra terrifying, but it was so great. Definitely in my top 5 favorite coasters at Great America, but it's definitely a max thrill coaster too.
Goliath is the fifth shortest Rocky Mountain Construction coaster, but it's got a whopping 180ft drop and hits a top speed of 72mph with a zero G 'stall' and a gnarly dive drop. This replaced the stand-up coaster Iron Wolf. Lines frequently stretch into the 45-60min range, and they really staple you into the restraints (for good reason). Protip: the back row is way wilder than the front row and has a MUCH shorter wait. Goliath is intense and very thrilling, but it's over far too soon to be considered the best coaster at Great America (and nowhere near the best RMC out there).
I love Goliath I think it’s super fun. Most people starting out roller coasters may be intimidated my the look of the drop but in all reality it’s not scary at all and rather fun. The most I’ve ever waited is 30 minutes. Perhaps I was lucky or went at a good time just to keep in mind. But overall 100% recommend.
Goliath is RMC’s second ground up coaster and it does not disappoint. The drop off the lift hill and combination of elements work so well together. The ride is on the shorter side but wow does it pack a punch. The stall feels like you are hanging there for such a long time. You don’t get extreme forceful ejector air time like in the some the other RMCs, but this is just a fun ride.
I lost my Sox hat at the bottom of the big drop. If you look carefully on the way off the ride you can still see it. I miss my hat.
This is the second RMC I've been on, and I have to say, this little guy doesn't get enough credit. The only other one I've done is Steel Vengence, and even with that to compare this to, it holds its own. It's an AMAZING ride and definitely top three in the park. Even with the long waits and low capacity, you have to check it out.
Yes, their other coasters are much longer, but this ride packs a punch with the short amount of time its given. It'll throw you out of your seat on that first drop, and it's an incredible feeling. So much airtime on this, both ejector and floater. One of the best drops I've experienced on any coaster.
Each element is so forceful and intense, it feels like this ride is trying to kill you and I absolutely love when rides do that. You can feel that stall in your stomach. At some points you don't even know which way you're facing.
And for being just a wooden coaster, not a hybrid like the other rmcs? Fantastic. I'd ride this all day long if I could.
Only have ridden this ride twice, but both times were super worth it. The Zero G inversion is my absolute favorite part of the ride. If you get a chance, would highly recommend riding. Bit of advice: exhale just as you are going down the first drop. It helps with stomach problems.
Always a great time, but I have a Flash Pass and a Dimond Elite VIP Membership so I'm on quickly.
